Valentine's Day!!!

FINAL 'FALLING' EDIT!

We've done it!!!!!!!

This part of the journey is almost over!
I finished the final edit and now all that's left to do is...
Go through it one more time and make sure all of the
additions and things to be deleted have been applied!
Apply for an ISBN!
(we have already reserved our numbers)
And PUBLISH!

WOOT!

It's awesome to have finished my book!

Valentine's Day 2010
will go down in my mind as the day
I finished my book!
Set around Valentine's Day,
I think it's kind of ironic that I finished it
on
 Valentine's Day!

What a long process from humble beginnings back in 2002,
when my youngest daughter was just 18 months of age.
For many years the book sat idle
with just 22 chapters
- a skeleton structure -
that needed more honing and defining!
I wasn't sure I would ever finish it!

Last year I decided it was time for
'FALLING'
to be dusted off!
I believed it should see the light of day!
I believed it should be published!

We have worked very diligently and very hard on this process
since that time,
sometimes during some very trying circumstances!

Thank you to my husband,
Peter Hayward
for the beautiful cover!
I adore it!

I have put blood, sweat and tears into this book.
I have given 100% of myself to this project!

I look forward to sharing
'FALLING'
with you
very soon!

I also just wanted to add some extra pictures...

FALLING
A work in progress...

This morning I dug out the original
FALLING
manuscript!

Here it is
in all its glory
in a manilla folder!

Here are the two copies I have been working from
and editing over the past few weeks
plus the original manuscript!

Look at all of those pages!
I can't believe I am through
all of that now!

A work in progress...

A day in the life of an Author...

Time to do what we hope will be the final edit!
The manuscript you see here with a million tags hanging out of it
Has been edited some 4 or 5 times, maybe more, we've seriously lost count!
All we can tell you, this is the biggest task we've ever tackled...
Besides raising our brood, that is!!!

Last night we purchased new stationery supplies
So Michelle doesn't run out of ink!!!!!
(or chocolate)
This is a writer's worst nightmare!!!!

Now that the book has been edited and formatted,
the final cut is coming...
does anything need to be added...??
or removed...??
are there any typos...??
etc... etc...

I guess you could go on and on
forever...
but at some point you have to stop and say
"I'm really happy with that!"
So this is it folks!
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

As you can see - we have two copies
The 'edited a million times version'
and the pristine copy Michelle is about
to ATTACK with a red pen
...and a highlighter
if I didn't get it (the editing) right.
Here's hoping I see much less of those tags!
More tags means more editing.
I'll post a photo of the final one...
so you can see what happened.
It might be worth a laugh!
(Shame I don't drink coffee)

So anyway...
You will have also noticed some very important items in the pics
that Michelle wanted me to mention!

Then you'll notice the very romantic doorhanger
Thank you Jodie for the beautiful series of doorhangers.
(more pics of Jodie's work are on the blog)!

She would also like to acknowledge with sincere thanks:
Natalie Carey for reading the entire manuscript and providing much-valued feedback!

You can see our beautiful 'Falling' merchandise!
We can't wait to add these many sensational products to our 'Falling' Tote Bags!

Til the next post,
- Peter
'Falling' Editor (back up support, coffee maker, chocolate supplier....well, you get the idea!)

Just a quick 'Falling' Update

I just wanted to update you and let you know that the formatting of Falling is still occuring and we are looking forward to publishing ASAP! Unfortunately we lost some time with a sick computer and having to retype some of the information as it was only available in hardcopy (and lost from the harddrive!) These delays have been exceedingly frustrating for us! Self-publishing is a long road and not at all easy, but we know it will be worth it in the end when the book is complete. Please bear with us. We are hoping this process will not be too much longer.

Thanks,
Peter Hayward

The Back Cover

We reveal a little of what unfolds in the story...

It’s almost Valentine's Day....the single most romantic day of the year. Working at ‘The Angel’s Verse’ greeting card company, newly single, Jenna Rose, writer extraordinaire, is hardly in the mood to compose sappy, romantic poetry for the timeless lovers of the world.

Jenna's best friend and sanity saver is ‘life of the party’ Carolyn Hart. They have known each other since 'forever’ and shared everything from the ecstasy of the first dates to the agony of the 31st date. Their wardrobes, full of little black dresses, are testament to their ‘lipstick and stilettos’ style of approach while trying to meet "Mr Right" whose first name isn't "Always"! But then Jenna falls for Zac Hart, Carolyn's brother, with disastrous results when a plan goes awry....let’s throw a dating agency into the mix...just to make life interesting. Soon, Jenna’s back-up plan becomes Ashton Lynch...a new man, with a whole new technique when it comes to love and romance!

Jenna must make a mind-blowing decision. Will she choose the object of her adolescent crush, gorgeous and sport crazy Journo, Zac Hart, or sweet lovable, predictable Ashton Lynch, the sexy stockbroker?

Journey through the ‘unpredictable’ minefield of dating with Jenna, as she navigates the lipstick jungle. With a glass of red and a laptop in hand, she is ready to take on the world.

It is magical, powerful, emotional and undeniably sexy!
It is... An Addiction!
I promise - YOU WILL BE HOOKED!
